Finding and maintaining meaningful employment can have a big impact on promoting health and well-being, and helping people recover from mental illness. Our employment program helps job seekers access resources, skills, supports and connections with employers.
The Employment Program of BC, also referred to as EK Employment, is a network of four WorkBC Employment Services Centres. Through EK Employment Offices in Fernie, Cranbrook, Invermere and Golden, we provide information, services, programs and support to help individuals find and keep a job.
Job seekers can access self-serve services for their employment-related needs including:
- Job boards and job search resources
- Workstations, computers and internet access
- Printing, scanning and faxing services
- A resource library
All self-serve resource areas are hosted full-time by qualified staff who can set you up on a computer, proof-read your resume, or provide other basic advice to help you with your job search.
We can also help you access a number services including:
- Life and employment skills training
- Short-term certificate courses
- Employment coaching
- Career and skills assessment
- Work experience placements
- Volunteer placements
