If you are a woman who is at risk of or experiencing abuse, we are here to help. Please call us at 250-426-5222 extension #3023 or toll-free at 1-800-200-3003 (Women’s Shelter and Help Line).
Our Women’s Community Outreach Services (CORS) program provides guidance and emotional support to women who are, or are at risk of becoming victims of various forms of abuse.
The services are intended to reduce the impact of victimization and trauma resulting from exposure to domestic violence and utilizing therapeutic support techniques with individuals and groups.
The outreach workers will assist in goal setting, life skills and advocacy. Additionally, the program assesses the safety of the clients and their children and supports clients in reducing safety risks.
Last year, 100% participants who provided feedback said they felt safer, were experiencing less violence and that the program had helped them access help available in the community.
Women are able to access this program through the transition house as well as through the community and self-referral.
