Welcome to the CMHA Kootenays branch website.

Canadian Mental Health Association Kootenays branch facilitates access to the resources people require to maintain and improve mental health and community integration, build resilience, and support recovery from mental illness.

We would like to acknowledge the land on which we gather is the traditional territory of the Ktunaxa Nation, and is home to the Métis and many diverse Aboriginal persons. We honour their connection to the land and rivers and respect the importance of the environment to our strength as a community.

Training

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day interactive workshop in suicide first aid. ASIST teaches participants to recognize when someone may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety.
